Where is New England College located? Why is it called NEC boston?

I know this university is in NH but why do people call it as nec boston? I want to pursue ms data science in nec. If it is in NH, can we commute from Boston?

New England college in Boston is an independent school of optometry or NEC the music conservatory is in Boston too! so those are obviously different. 
The one you are referring to (the university) is in NH  /universities/new-england-college-3105
