Kyushu University, also known as Kyushu Daigaku (abbreviated to Kyudai), is located in Fukuoka, on the island of Kyushu. It was founded in 1903 and was chartered as a university in 1911. Kyudai is affiliated with the Alliance of Asian Liberal Arts Universities. It was the 4th imperial university in Japan, ranked by Times Higher Education Japan University Rankings. Services offered by the university

  • The library at Kyushu University is well stocked with various collections that can help students and researchers in both their disciplines and interdisciplinary studies. The chronicles, digital archives, learning guides, rare books, special collections, etc., along with different journals, research papers, magazines, and guides of various sorts, make up the general repository of the library.

On campus accomodation at Kyushu University

The on-campus accommodation is spread across the dormitories, which provide an international environment within themselves. This diverse mixture of students, both freshmen, and graduate students, live together and help each other in every way they can. It is a great place to create permanent relationships, networking, and connections for the future. There are principally four types of accommodation on campus at Kyushu university:

  • Dormitory 1 is located more or less at the center of the campus with individual rooms and has an almost equal number of Japanese and international students.
  • Dormitory 2 is also located more or less towards the center of the campus with individual rooms and has an 8:2 ratio of Japanese to international students.
  • Dormitory 3 is again located towards the center of the campus and has shared rooms for up to four people per unit. Usually, these rooms are allocated so that there are two Japanese students and two international students per unit. The living space is private, but the basic amenities like the kitchen, dining room, bath, and toilet are shared by four people.
  • Harmony House is a dormitory located around 1 kilometer from the center of the campus and has the largest amount of living space at the university. There is a 1:1 ratio between Japanese and international students who live in individual rooms. This accommodation is more appropriate for married couples, although there are single rooms.
  • The accommodation costs on-campus can be around JPY 30,000 (INR 17,325) per month.
